The Best Coffee in JHB
Anyone who knows me, knows that I love my coffee. They also know that I am a better person once I've had a good cup of coffee in the morning. Hence, I was over the moon when I saw that Motherland Coffee Company was opening right across the road from where I stay in Parktown North. They have replaced Vide e Cafe, which closed down a couple of months ago.
Motherland opened up their chic, new spot last weekend and I was the most excited to go and try them out. The staff are exceptionally friendly and welcomed me in with huge smiles.
I ordered a traditional cappuccino and a toasted sandwich. The cappuccino was hands-down the best I've tasted at any establishment in Johannesburg. It was the perfect strength for me (I love me some strong coffee), and their house blend had such a great, perfectly-rounded flavour.
They have my vote and my complete endorsement. I was thrilled to see that they also serve health bread and other various savoury options (this girl's got to lose some winter padding soon). My oozing-with-cheese toasted sandwich was decadent, as was their low-carb, gluten-free spinach and feta loaf! Get in my face!
